Oracle Boulevard | Our December guide to drinks, dining, and desserts
The sound of glasses clinking, and merry laughter is in the air as we kick off our favourite time of the year – the season of celebrations, gift giving and of course, indulgence. With warm weather, longer days and plenty of time off work, the festive season is truly the time to sit back, enjoy a meal, and time with friends and family. With three hatted restaurants in the space of just one tiny side street, it’s safe to say Oracle Boulevard is a hidden gem of delicious dining options, and exactly the place to celebrate and share in the festive spirit.
So, it’s time to let the hair down, throw the diets out the window, and enjoy some of the best eats and drinks the coast (and Queensland) has to offer.
Drinks
Whether you’re looking for a Beaujolais that’ll blow you away, a cocktail that could revive the dead, or a scotch that’s old enough to order its own, the team at Social Eating House has a tipple that’s certain to hit the spot. The incredibly talented team recently won the category of ‘Wine Bar, Brewery & Boutique Spirits’ at the South East QLD Restaurant & Catering Awards, and hold not one but two Chef Hats. Have they won bragging rights to one of the best drinking spots on the coast? With their growing awards list, and place as Queensland’s 7th best restaurant, we certainly think so!
If boujee wines and spirits aren’t your thing, or you’re simply looking for a low-key Sunday session spot, the boulevard has options aplenty. For the beer lovers, the Lucky Squire’s onsite brewery and huge variety of craft beers will please even the pickiest of beer-enthusiasts.
Dining
When not in Rome, the next best thing is Orzo. A big claim, we know! But after being named number one ‘Italian Restaurant – Informal” at the South East QLD Restaurant & Catering Awards – teamed with their delicious menu – they more than deserve it. They may be the newest kids on the block, but once you’ve sampled their delicious fare, we reckon you’ll agree they’ve undoubtedly earned their place. The menu is sophisticated, putting a modern twist on the Italian classics without compromising on tradition.
If Pan-Asian is more to your likings, you can’t go past Mamasan Kitchen + Bar for a spot of festive indulgence. The team at Mamasan have a long list of well-deserved awards and have just been awarded the nation’s highest of accolades, a Chef’s Hat. Blending traditional and modern Southeast Asian cuisine the flavours are authentic, traditional, and served with modern elegance. Don’t skip the spanner crab dumplings, trust us!
Desserts
After drinking and eating your way through the best of the best on the Boulevard, there’s only one way to finish off an evening of indulgence – so we hoped you’ve saved room for a dessert good enough to eat any time of the day. From pancakes and waffles to crépes, cakes, and dessert pizzas – the menu at Cowch is truly a sweet tooths dream. Dripping with chocolate, caramel, and sprinkles, each and every item on this menu is worth sampling. Better still, everything is handmade, and they’ve just launched a brand-new menu. Count us in!
Tucked away off Broadbeach’s main street, Oracle Boulevard is not to be underestimated when it comes to quality dining options! Whether you’re feasting with friends and family, or you’re looking for a new date-night venue or end of year office soirée, there’s no better place to share a drink, some quality dining, and to-die-for desserts this festive season.
