Hailing from the heart of France, Phillipe Amrouche’s career followed the footsteps of his sister, a talented chef herself. She guided Phillipe into the kitchen and helped him begin his hospitality adventure at the age of just 14.
In 2011, Phillipe moved to Australia where he landed a job as a chef in an Italian restaurant before becoming head chef at The Cuban in 2018. Phillipe loves working at The Cuban because it’s where he can create dishes with a diverse palette of spices and flavours.
Phillipe believes a great chef must possess a wealth of knowledge, commitment to high standards, and self-discipline – all of which he has mastered over the years.
